Job Description
Nexus Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our elite team on a contract basis. This is a critical role supporting 24/7 enterprise operations with a focus on night shift availability (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM MST).
In this position, you will ensure the highest level of system availability, security, and performance for our key clients. You will be responsible for complex troubleshooting, infrastructure maintenance, and implementing best practices in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage server infrastructure, including Linux, Windows Server, and virtualization environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Execute 24/7 support rotations, diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software anomalies.
- Perform scheduled backups, patch management, and system upgrades during off-peak hours to minimize downtime.
- Implement and enforce security protocols and compliance standards to protect sensitive data.
- Collaborate with the day-shift team to document technical procedures and hand over critical tickets.
- Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure system scalability.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering or Network Administration.
- Proven ability to work independently and effectively during night shift schedules.
- Strong proficiency in scripting (Python or Bash) and automation tools.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Valid CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
