Responsibilities
- System Maintenance & Monitoring: Oversee the health and uptime of critical server infrastructure and applications during weekend shifts to prevent downtime.
- Deployment & Updates: Execute scheduled software patches, code deployments, and database migrations with zero-downtime strategies.
- Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and bugs reported by the support team.
- Security Compliance: Perform security audits and vulnerability scans to ensure our systems are compliant with industry standards.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of all system changes, incidents, and resolutions for the QA team to review on Monday mornings.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze system metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement performance improvements.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of professional software engineering or systems administration experience.
- Availability: Must be available to work exclusively on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python or Node.js, and experience with Linux/Unix environments.
- Databases: Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- San Francisco Residency: Must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Communication: Ability to document complex technical issues clearly for a broader team.
