Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of local and cloud-based servers, ensuring 99.9% uptime and optimal performance.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and manage firewall rules, VPN configurations, and security protocols to protect sensitive government and corporate data.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues across a diverse fleet of devices and workstations.
- System Upgrades: Plan and execute server migrations, OS updates, and patch management strategies without disrupting business operations.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaboration: Work closely with development teams and stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with business goals.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Network Engineer.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+, AWS Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Azure Administrator certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, PowerShell, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours and occasional on-site support in Washington, DC.
