Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical applications in logistics, drug discovery, and financial modeling
- Develop error-correction protocols to advance quantum hardware stability beyond current limitations
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum-classical hybrid computing systems
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and present findings at international conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum programming languages like Qiskit and Cirq
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum chip architectures
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years postdoctoral research
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithm development and quantum circuit optimization
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science or IEEE Transactions on Quantum Engineering
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and classical HPC environments
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research grants
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing principles
