Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum systems using superconducting qubits and photonic processors
- Develop error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors with enhanced coherence times
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international quantum computing conferences
- Secure federal grants and industry partnerships for advanced quantum research initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory and experimental methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing or physics journals
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and low-level quantum hardware control languages
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and statistical physics
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding through NSF or DARPA proposals
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and microwave control electronics
