Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and cryptography
- Lead prototyping of fault-tolerant quantum processors using superconducting and photonic systems
- Publish groundbreaking research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Develop error-correction frameworks enabling 1000+ qubit scalability by 2028
- Mentor PhD researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure $2M+ in NSF/DARPA grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Partner with industry leaders to commercialize quantum solutions
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development using Qiskit/Cirq
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant architectures
- Expertise in quantum hardware platforms (superconducting qubits, trapped ions, or photonics)
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Track record of securing government research grants
- Experience mentoring postdoctoral researchers
- Deep understanding of quantum supremacy benchmarks
