Responsibilities
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing systems
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop quantum processors with 1000+ qubits
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor a team of PhD researchers and quantum software engineers
- Secure $5M+ in government and private research grants
- Develop quantum security protocols for post-2026 digital infrastructure
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (required)
- 5+ years of quantum research experience with 20+ peer-reviewed publications
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Proven track record of securing federal research grants
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in cryptography and information theory
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-disciplinary research teams
