Responsibilities
- Monitor & Alert: Continuously monitor network traffic, server health, and system performance using tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, and Grafana.
- Incident Response: Rapidly respond to and resolve critical alerts and incidents during the night shift with minimal supervision.
- Maintenance: Perform routine patch management, log rotation, and automated maintenance scripts on Linux and Windows servers.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all incidents, resolutions, and system changes within the ticketing system (ServiceNow).
- Escalation: Effectively triage issues and escalate complex technical problems to Level 2 and Level 3 engineering teams.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to SLAs, security protocols, and operational standards during all shifts.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Tier 2/3 Help Desk environment.
- Availability: Must be available to work the Night Shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM PST).
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), and subnetting.
- OS Proficiency: Solid experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows Server environments.
- Scripting: Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) is highly preferred.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear ticketing and reporting.
