Apex Tech Solutions is currently seeking a highly skilled Contract Network Engineer to join our elite team in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a pivotal role responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of our client's critical network infrastructure during off-peak weekend maintenance windows. Responsibilities
- Network Monitoring & Optimization: Proactively monitor network health, traffic patterns, and system logs during weekend shifts to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact business operations.
- Maintenance Execution: Plan and execute critical maintenance windows, including software patching, firmware updates, and hardware upgrades, with zero tolerance for downtime.
- Infrastructure Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network incidents, including routing protocols, VLAN configuration, and connectivity failures.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce network security protocols, ensuring all devices adhere to corporate security policies and compliance standards.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network diagrams, change management logs, and runbooks.
Qualifications
- Certifications: Valid CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent technical certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, system administration, or IT infrastructure management.
- Availability: Mandatory availability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays as required by the contract schedule.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Cisco IOS/Junos, firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), and VPN technologies.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
