Role Overview:
As the Senior IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects within scope, on time, and within budget. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality IT solutions that meet stringent government standards.
Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Management: Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation through closure, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, providing clear, timely updates on project status, risks, and milestones.
- Resource Allocation: Lead the planning and execution of resource assignments to ensure project teams are aligned and productive.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential project risks and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them before they impact the timeline.
- Agile Leadership: Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Sprints, Daily Scrums, Retrospectives) to ensure continuous improvement and team alignment.
- Budget Oversight: Monitor project expenditures against the budget and report variances to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in IT Project Management, specifically within the government or defense sector.
- Certifications: PMP, PgMP, or CAPM certification is mandatory.
- Methodologies: Deep expertise in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, or MS Office Suite.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
