Apex Systems is currently seeking a detail-oriented Night Shift Data Engineer to support our client in New York City. This is a contract opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate and the chance to work in a high-paced, 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues during night operations.
- Perform data validation, cleaning, and transformation tasks.
- Ensure all database backups and maintenance tasks are completed before shift end.
- Collaborate with the day-shift team via chat or email to hand over critical tickets.
- Analyze night-time traffic spikes and optimize system resources accordingly.
- Document technical procedures and nightly runbooks.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a technical support or data engineering role.
- Must have previous experience working in night shift or graveyard shift environments.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and Python (or similar languages).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work weekends/holidays as needed.
