Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning
- Lead experimental validation of quantum error correction protocols on multi-qubit systems
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical frameworks for real-world industrial applications
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum processor performance metrics
- Publish high-impact research in top-tier journals and conference proceedings
- Mentor junior researchers and quantum engineering interns
- Secure external funding through NSF grants and industry partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience with superconducting or photonic systems
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and optimization using Qiskit, Cirq, or similar frameworks
- Strong publication record in quantum information science or adjacent fields
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing environments
- Demonstrated ability to work with interdisciplinary teams including physicists, engineers, and AI specialists
- Security clearance eligibility for government-funded quantum initiatives
