Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead cutting-edge research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical quantum systems
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and present findings at premier conferences
- Develop quantum software frameworks and APIs for commercial deployment by 2026
- Mentor junior researchers and foster cross-functional innovation across quantum physics, computer science, and materials engineering
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and quantum circuit design
- Proven track record of publishing high-impact research in quantum computing or adjacent fields
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics, linear algebra, and complexity theory
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ, or similar)
- Strong proficiency in Python, C++, and parallel computing architectures
- Ability to secure and manage federal research grants (NSF, DOE, DARPA preferred)
