Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and cryptography applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in research grants through NSF and DARPA partnerships
- Mentor PhD candidates and develop next-generation quantum programming frameworks
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bridge quantum theory and practical implementation
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum error correction protocols and topological qubit manipulation
- Published record in quantum algorithm development (minimum 3 peer-reviewed papers)
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages: Qiskit, Cirq, and Quil
- Demonstrated success in securing government or corporate research funding
- Deep understanding of quantum supremacy challenges and NISQ-era limitations
- Strong background in machine learning integration with quantum systems
