2026 Labs is on a mission to define the technological landscape of the next decade. We are looking for a visionary Principal AI Architect to lead our core research initiatives and bridge the gap between theoretical breakthroughs and scalable production systems.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of the 2026 Initiative, designing the neural architectures that will power the next generation of autonomous agents. You will not just write code; you will shape the strategic direction of our engineering teams and define the standards for the industry.
Why Join Us?
- Work on cutting-edge AI that impacts billions of users.
- Competitive equity package and salary.
- Flexible remote-first culture with state-of-the-art equipment.
- Direct access to executive leadership.
What You Will Do:
As a Principal Architect, you will be responsible for the high-level design and technical strategy of our flagship projects. You will mentor senior engineers, review complex codebases, and ensure our systems are robust, scalable, and secure.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the architectural design for the 2026 Roadmap, focusing on next-generation deep learning models and distributed systems.
- Lead the migration strategy to edge-computing paradigms, ensuring low-latency processing for real-time applications.
- Define and enforce software engineering best practices, code quality standards, and architectural patterns across all engineering teams.
- Collaborate with product managers and data scientists to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps.
- Conduct deep-dive technical reviews and provide mentorship to senior and mid-level engineers.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI research (e.g., Transformers, Generative AI) and evaluate their applicability to our stack.
- Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies for large-scale system deployments.
Qualifications
- Masterβs or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and 5+ years in a lead architect or principal engineering role.
- Deep expertise in Python, C++, and modern machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX).
- Proven track record of designing scalable, fault-tolerant systems serving millions of users.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with MLOps pipelines and model deployment strategies.
