Nexus Layer is seeking a visionary Lead Blockchain Architect to spearhead the technical development of our upcoming 2026 protocol. We are building a high-throughput, interoperable blockchain solution designed to revolutionize cross-chain finance.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end technical vision of our smart contracts and consensus mechanisms. You will work directly with the founding team to define the architectural roadmap, ensuring scalability, security, and gas efficiency. Responsibilities
- Define the high-level architecture and technical strategy for the 2026 protocol launch, including consensus mechanisms and sharding strategies.
- Design and implement secure, auditable smart contracts in Solidity and Rust using best practices.
- Lead the design and optimization of Layer 2 scaling solutions to handle thousands of transactions per second.
- Conduct rigorous code reviews, security audits, and threat modeling to protect user assets and data integrity.
- Mentor a growing team of senior and junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Collaborate with product managers to translate complex requirements into robust technical specifications.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years specifically focused on Blockchain, Web3, or Cryptography.
- Deep expertise in Solidity and Rust, with a proven track record of deploying production-grade smart contracts.
- Strong understanding of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) internals, token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155), and cryptographic primitives.
- Experience with development frameworks such as Foundry, Hardhat, or Truffle.
- Experience with Zero-Knowledge (ZK) proofs or Rollup technologies is a significant plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
