Apex Digital Systems is seeking a highly skilled Contract Senior QA Engineer to join our dynamic team in Detroit, Michigan. We are looking for a self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering flawless software products.
In this role, you will play a critical part in our quality assurance lifecycle, ensuring our clients receive solutions that exceed expectations. You will have the flexibility to work part-time while making a significant impact on our engineering roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive automated test scripts using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Execute manual and automated test suites to identify defects and ensure product stability across web and mobile platforms.
- Analyze application performance, security, and usability to provide actionable insights for development teams.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Software Engineers to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Document bugs clearly and accurately in Jira, tracking them through to resolution.
- Maintain and update the QA documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, including both manual and automated testing.
- Proficiency in at least one major automation framework (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Appium).
- Strong SQL skills for database validation and data integrity checks.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
