Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the 2026 innovation roadmap, identifying emerging technologies with disruptive potential
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and data scientists to pioneer next-gen solutions
- Establish strategic partnerships with academic institutions and tech incubators to accelerate R&D
- Conduct horizon scanning for emerging trends in quantum computing, AI ethics, and sustainable tech
- Secure $5M+ annual innovation budget through compelling business case presentations
- Champion a culture of experimentation, implementing agile methodologies for rapid prototyping
- Present innovation strategies to the board of directors and executive leadership team
- Monitor patent landscapes and competitive intelligence to maintain first-mover advantages
Qualifications
- 15+ years in technology innovation with 5+ years in executive leadership roles
- Proven track record of scaling disruptive technologies from concept to market launch
- Expertise in emerging fields: quantum computing, generative AI, or sustainable tech systems
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Innovation Management (PhD preferred)
- Experience securing $10M+ innovation budgets and managing P&L for R&D divisions
- Deep understanding of regulatory landscapes for emerging technologies (FDA, FCC, etc.)
- Exceptional strategic communication skills with ability to influence C-suite and investors
- Published thought leadership in innovation management or future technologies
