Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate quantum-classical hybrid architectures
- Lead research initiatives in quantum cryptography and secure communications
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from government and private partners
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates in quantum sciences
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years research experience
- Published record in Nature/Science or equivalent journals on quantum information theory
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Proficiency with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and computational complexity
- Experience securing DoE/NSF grants or industry R&D partnerships
