Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for complex optimization problems
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-corrected quantum systems
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into functional prototypes
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants through NIH/NSF/DoD partnerships
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
- Drive intellectual property strategy with 15+ annual patent filings
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing experience with trapped ions/superconducting qubits
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Strong background in linear algebra, group theory, and statistical mechanics
- Proven track record of securing competitive research grants
- Ability to obtain DOE Q-Clearance for sensitive projects
