Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation
- Develop error-corrected quantum systems using superconducting qubits and topological architectures
- Lead interdisciplinary projects combining quantum machine learning with classical AI frameworks
- Author peer-reviewed publications and present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and similar forums
- Translate theoretical quantum protocols into practical hardware implementations
- Mentor junior researchers and secure $5M+ in NSF/DoD quantum grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computational Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years quantum research
- Expertise in quantum circuit design using Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#
- Proven experience with cryogenic quantum hardware (D-Wave, Rigetti, or IBM)
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing journals
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in high-performance computing (HPC) environments
- Security clearance preferred for government-funded projects
