Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead cutting-edge research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop quantum architectures beyond current limitations
- Publish breakthrough findings in premier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and foster cross-functional innovation
- Contribute to quantum roadmap planning for 2026-2030 initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error mitigation
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex probability theory
- Proven ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
