Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop advanced quantum error correction codes to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, computer scientists, and engineers on quantum hardware integration projects
- Publish high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at international conferences
- Collaborate with industry partners to translate theoretical research into practical quantum computing solutions
- Mentor junior researchers and PhD students in quantum information science
- Secure external funding through NSF, DOE, and industry research grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction in top-tier journals
- Expertise in quantum hardware architecture and decoherence mitigation techniques
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra, probability theory, and quantum mechanics
- Experience leading research teams and managing multi-year research projects
- Proficiency with high-performance computing environments and parallel programming
