Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of qubit coherence and error correction protocols
- Author peer-reviewed publications for Nature/Science journals
- Design cryogenic control systems for 1000+ qubit processors
- Translate theoretical models into manufacturable quantum hardware designs
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
- Secure $5M+ in DOE/NIST grant funding for 2026 initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years experience with superconducting qubit systems
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, and quantum circuit optimization
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface/colour codes)
- Experience with cryogenic engineering and RF control systems
- Track record of securing federal research grants
- Strong background in machine learning for quantum systems
