Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for commercial applications in cryptography, optimization, and AI
- Direct cross-functional research teams of physicists, computer scientists, and engineers
- Establish strategic partnerships with quantum hardware providers (IBM, Google, Rigetti)
- Develop 5-year quantum adoption roadmaps for enterprise clients
- Secure $2M+ annual research grants from NSF, DARPA, and industry consortia
- Present breakthrough findings at premier conferences (Q2B, APS March Meeting)
- Mentor PhD researchers in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm implementation on real hardware
- Published research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, PRL)
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Track record of securing federal research grants
- Experience managing R&D teams of 10+ researchers
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Strong industry connections with quantum computing ecosystem
