This role combines foresight analysis with hands-on prototyping in our Austin innovation hub.
As a key member of our Future Technologies division, you'll collaborate with Nobel laureates, Silicon Valley disruptors, and government futurists to translate emerging research into market-ready paradigms. Our lab operates at the intersection of biotechnology, renewable energy, and decentralized networks, pushing the boundaries of what's technologically feasible.
Responsibilities
- Develop 2026+ technology roadmaps by analyzing emerging trends in quantum computing and synthetic biology
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping next-gen AI systems with ethical governance frameworks
- Produce annual 'Horizon Reports' forecasting disruptive technologies for the 2026 landscape
- Secure partnerships with DARPA, MIT Media Lab, and EU Innovation Council
- Design sustainable tech implementation strategies for Fortune 500 clients
- Present findings at global summits including Web Summit and TechCrunch Disrupt
- Mentor PhD candidates in our Future Tech Fellowship program
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Quantum Engineering, or Futurist Studies
- 5+ years experience in emerging technology strategy at FAANG or top-tier research institutions
- Published research in Nature/Science on AI ethics or quantum applications
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, and quantum simulation platforms
- Deep understanding of UN SDG 2030 alignment with tech innovation
- Security clearance preferred for government collaboration projects
- Portfolio demonstrating 3+ successful tech commercialization initiatives
