We're seeking a contract Senior UX Designer to lead end-to-end design projects for mission-critical applications. This 6-month contract offers the flexibility of remote work with bi-weekly in-person collaboration at our DC headquarters. You'll collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to create intuitive, accessible digital experiences that serve over 500,000 users nationwide.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end UX design processes including research, wireframing, prototyping, and user testing
- Create high-fidelity mockups and design systems using Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Conduct user research sessions and synthesize insights to inform design decisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation of design solutions
- Develop and maintain design documentation and style guides
- Present design solutions to stakeholders and gather actionable feedback
- Ensure WCAG 2.1 AA compliance across all digital products
- Mentor junior designers through design critiques and knowledge sharing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in UX Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of professional UX design experience, with 2+ years in contract/freelance roles
- Expert proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools
- Strong portfolio demonstrating complex B2B/federal project experience
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and A/B testing
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and Section 508 compliance
- Excellent presentation and stakeholder communication skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships
