We are seeking a highly motivated technical professional to support our critical 24/7 operations during the night shift. As a key member of our off-hours team, you will bridge the gap between development and operations, handling complex deployments and incident response when the rest of the world is offline. Responsibilities
- System Monitoring & Maintenance: Oversee server health, database integrity, and application performance metrics during night shift windows to ensure 99.99% uptime.
- Deployment Management: Execute critical code deployments, patches, and configuration updates outside of standard business hours with zero downtime.
- Incident Resolution: Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of critical technical escalations and outages with minimal supervision.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed runbooks, log nightly activities, and update technical documentation for the day-shift engineering team.
- Performance Tuning: Analyze system logs and metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement optimizations for scalability.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional teams using asynchronous communication tools to ensure seamless handovers and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in backend software development and system administration.
- Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go, with deep knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Night Shift Availability: Must be available to work 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM PST (Pacific Time).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Soft Skills: Strong independent work ethic, critical thinking skills, and excellent written communication abilities.
- Tools: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
