We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team in New York City for a lucrative 6-month contract. This is a pivotal role within our fintech division, focusing on the development and optimization of high-performance microservices.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust RESTful APIs and microservices using Python and Go.
- Optimize database queries and improve overall application performance and scalability.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to SOLID principles and coding standards.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to junior developers.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and technical retrospectives.
- Collaborate closely with frontend developers and product managers to ensure seamless integration.
- Implement best practices for data security, compliance, and disaster recovery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
- Strong proficiency in Python (Django/Flask) or Go (Golang).
- Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases, such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
