Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Python.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, QA, and product managers to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices and SOLID principles.
- Optimize database queries and improve application performance and latency.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning sessions.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance within the engineering team.
- Identify and resolve production issues and bugs with minimal downtime.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
- Strong proficiency in Java or Python.
- Experience with AWS or Azure (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3).
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and design patterns.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a contract capacity.
