You'll collaborate with Nobel laureates, quantum algorithm designers, and hardware engineers to create systems capable of solving previously intractable problems in materials science, cryptography, and artificial intelligence. Responsibilities
- Design and deploy scalable quantum processing units with >1000 qubit capacity by 2026
- Develop cryogenic control systems maintaining sub-10mK operating temperatures
- Implement quantum error correction protocols achieving >99.9% fidelity
- Architect hybrid quantum-classical computing interfaces for real-world applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping next-generation quantum sensors
- Establish security protocols for quantum-resistant cryptography systems
- Generate technical roadmaps aligning with National Quantum Initiative milestones
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Engineering, or related field (MS with 8+ years experience considered)
- Proven expertise in superconducting qubit architecture and control electronics
- Experience with quantum error correction codes (surface, color, or LDPC codes)
- Proficiency in cryogenic engineering and dilution refrigerator systems
- Strong background in quantum machine learning algorithms
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Familiarity with quantum cloud platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Security clearance eligibility for DoD quantum projects
