Responsibilities
- Design and prototype novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum software for next-gen processors
- Publish peer-reviewed papers and present findings at international conferences
- Develop quantum machine learning frameworks for real-world 2026 use cases
- Mentor junior researchers and drive quantum literacy initiatives
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation tools
- Proven track record of published quantum algorithm research
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and computational complexity
- Experience with cloud quantum platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket)
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical audiences
