Responsibilities
- Develop strategic roadmaps for emerging technologies (quantum computing, biotech AI, neuro interfaces) with 3-5 year implementation horizons
- Lead cross-functional innovation sprints with R&D, product, and engineering teams to prototype 2026-viable solutions
- Conduct horizon scanning and competitive analysis in future tech verticals (Web4.0, sentient AI, climate tech)
- Present technology forecasts and strategic recommendations to C-suite and board stakeholders
- Build partnerships with academic institutions and government innovation labs
- Manage $2M+ innovation budget for future tech exploration and prototyping
- Mentor junior futurists and cultivate a culture of radical innovation
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic technology planning, product innovation, or R&D leadership
- Proven experience forecasting and implementing emerging technologies (quantum, AI, blockchain)
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Strategic Innovation (PhD/MSc preferred)
- Deep understanding of exponential technology trends and their business implications
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Track record of launching products with 5+ year vision cycles
- Portfolio demonstrating future-tech thought leadership (patents, publications, keynotes)
- Certification in Strategic Foresight or Technology Innovation Management
